Deamalgamation of the common dentistry amalgam scrap, as well as of a model Ag70Sn17Cu13 prealloy amalgam, was studied by metallography, microhardness, X-ray diffraction and differential thermal analysis techniques. The results are discussed from the view-point of the possible powder-metallurgical application of the process.
