The first electroproduction experiment of a hypernucleus was undertaken at the Thomas
Jefferson National Acceleration Facility. The (e,e˘K+) reaction was used
on a natC target resulting in the observation of the
12LB hypernucleus. The excitation
spectrum is presented and discussed.
