Fractional calculus is a powerful tool for extending concepts of classical
physics. The combination of fractional calculus and cosmology is an especially
promising strategy to find new insights and answers to actual problems in
astronomy and large-scale physics. In this paper, the fractional action-like
variational approach, introduced by the author in 2005, is used to investigate
some new cosmological features. We discuss in particular a modified cosmological
constant from fractional action-like variational approach with perturbed
Einstein's gravity, resulting in a dissipative cosmological constant.
