We discuss in this work two independent scenarios of a
higher-dimensional spatially flat universe. In the 1st
scenario, we conjecture that the cosmological constant varies
according to the ansatzs Λ = ρα,
α R, where ρ is the energy density assumed
to vary like ρ = DHm, (D,m) R. In the
2nd scenario, we conjecture that the cosmological
constant varies like Λ = Gβ, β R,
where G is the gravitational coupling constant. Both
scenarios reveal many interesting and appealing consequences
which are discussed in some details.
